We grow our standards with the utmost care, constantly pinching and pruning to form nice tight heads. We strongly recommend replacing the stake that we provide with a stronger, thicker bamboo pole that will reach the bottom of the new container, as standards grow the heads become larger and heavier making them susceptible to wind and weather. They will also have to be pinched or sheared occasionally to maintain their shapes.
