Upright tropical shrub with incredibly colorful exotic foliage, growing to a height of 3-4' in one season except where noted. Small catkin type flowers typical of the species. Broad range of colorful leaves in many different shapes and sizes. Use as accent plants in mixed borders, plantings and containers. Makes a great single specimen plant in a planter grouping. Likes a sunny location but will take a little shade, plant in fertile well-drained soil, should not be allowed to dry out. Can easily be pruned when necessary.
