A tender shrub growing to a height of 3 - 4 feet in one season. Its large, coarse, imparipinnate, deeply serrated, glaucous leaves are one of the most interesting in the plant kingdom. Melianthus needs a long growing season to bloom with its tall brown-red racemes of nectar rich flowers. A very dramatic looking plant that is stunning when used in mixed borders or containers. Plant in full sun to light shade in well-drained soil.
