Ivies are great for trailing down the edge of containers and in hanging baskets, or used as groundcovers. Most will grow to a length of 18 - 24 inches in one season. Many will be hardy when planted in the ground. Ivies are easily reused when change-outs are made in seasonal container plantings. Most ivy can handle a full sun to shade growing location and will tolerate all types of soil conditions.
